All teaching activities will be held in Croatian. However, foreign students in mixed groups will have the opportunity to attend additional office hours with the lecturer and teaching assistants in English to help master the course materials. Additionally, the lecturer will refer foreign students to the corresponding literature in English, as well as give them the possibility of taking the associated exams in English.

Description:
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Recognize and undestand evolutionary subjects in environmental sciences.
Knowledge of the basic evolutionary mechanisms in biology.
Compare the historical context and modern evolutionary science.
Apply mathematical models in phylogeny and evolution.
Analyze scientific and popular papers from the field of evolution.
Present the working results by oral, written and multimedial presentation.

3. Lectures: Chemical evolution, pre-atmosphere and conditions on Earth

Practical work: Microfossils preparations and electronic map

4. Lectures: Biological evolution; Domains and kingdoms of the living world; Universal ancestors of the living beings
Seminar: Adaptations and biodiversity
