    The Faculty Council of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science (hereinafter: the PMF), pursuant to Article 78 of the Faculty Statute, announces a

C A L L    F O R    A P P L I C A T I O N S

for appointment into

  1. Expert grade and the position of expert advisor in the science and higher education system, in the area of natural science, the field of geophysics, for an unlimited term and on a full-time basis, at the Andrija Mohorovičić Geophysical Institute, at the Department of Geophysics of the PMF - 1 person.
  2. Expert grade and the position of expert associate in the science and higher education system in the area of natural science, the field of chemistry, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis, at the Division of Organic Chemistry of the Department of Chemistry of the PMF - 1 person.
  3. Expert grade and the position of expert associate in the science and higher education system, in the area of natural science, the field of biology, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis, at the Division of Molecular Biology of the Department of Biology of the PMF - 1 person.
  4. Expert grade and the position of expert associate in the science and higher education system, in the area of natural science, the field of chemistry, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis, at the Division of Physical Chemistry of the Department of Chemistry of the PMF - 1 person.
  5. Expert grade of expert associate in the science and higher education system (adjunct), in the area of social science, the field of kinesiology, for a fixed term of three years and without entering into an employment relationship, at the Department of Biology of the PMF - 1 person

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
The Call is open to applicants of both sexes on equal terms.
In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, applicants have to meet the conditions set forth in the Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education (Official Gazette Nos 123/03, 198/03, 105/04, 174/04, 2/07, 46/07, 45/09, 63/11, 94/13, 139/13, 101/14, 60/15 and 131/17.)

For points 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Call, in addition to the application, applicants have to provide: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship, and other supporting documents as proofs of eligibility under the terms and conditions of the Call, in accordance with Article 10 of the Ordinance on the Appointment into Grades and Positions at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science, which can be accessed on the PMF website.

For points 2 and 4 of the Call, applicants have to submit a proof of eligibility under the additional terms and conditions as set forth in the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for the Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.

For point 1 of the Call, applicants have to satisfy the following conditions: 1) 5 years of work experience in the grade and the position of senior expert associate; and 2) in the period since the most recent appointment into the expert grade of senior expert associate, single authorship or the first/lead authorship of 3 published research papers or, alternately, instead of a single research paper, co-authorship of 3 published research papers; or single authorship or the first/lead authorship of 3 published professional papers related to the area of expertise; or a doctorate science degree in natural science or interdisciplinary area of science.

Exceptionally, at the request of an applicant for whom at least 30 months had lapsed between his/her appointment into the expert grade and the corresponding position, and the entry into force of the Ordinance on the amendments to the Ordinance on Appointment into Grades and Positions at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science, CLASSIFICATION No.: 003-05/18-01/3, FILING No.: 251-58-10205-22-6 of 25 March 2022, the appointment into the expert grade and the corresponding position of such an applicant shall be subject to the provisions of the Ordinance on Appointment into Grades and Positions at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science, CLASSIFICATION No.: 003-05/18-01/3, FILING No.: 251-58-10201-18-3 of 20 June 2018, CLASSIFICATION No.: 003-05/18-01/3, FILING No.: 251-58-10201-19-2 of 2 July 2019.

For point 1 of the Call, preference shall be given to the applicants with a doctorate degree in physical oceanography and the candidates who have work experience in mareography. 

For point 2 of the Call, applicants have to meet the following conditions: to have completed a university graduate study programme, research-oriented, in Chemistry. 

For point 2 of the Call, applicants have to meet the following additional conditions: to have work experience in the area of organic chemistry. 

For point 3 of the Call, applicants have to satisfy the following condition:  to have completed a university graduate study programme in molecular biology.

For point 4 of the Call, applicants have to satisfy the following condition:  to have completed a university graduate study programme in chemistry, research-oriented.

For point 4 of the Call, applicants have to meet the following additional conditions: to have experience in the area of physical chemistry of macromolecules and colloids. 

For point 5 of the Call, applicants have to satisfy the following conditions:  to have completed a university (under)graduate study programme for a physical education teacher/ master of kinesiology. 

In addition to their applications, applicants for points 2 and 4 of the Call have to submit evidence to prove that they meet the additional terms and conditions according to the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for the Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.

For all points of the Call, foreign nationals have to submit a Croatian language certificate.

Applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations have to invoke the preference in their application and provide all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same conditions as set forth in the Call, based on a duly completed and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call. Applicants applying for points 1. 2 and 3 of the Call who are fully eligible under all the formal terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed and timely application, will be called for an interview with the Selection Board.
Applicants will receive a special notification advising them of the place and time of the interview.

Any applicant who fails to attend the interview at the time and place as specified in the special notification, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings. 

The applicants applying under point 4 of the Call shall be subject to the pre-selection proceedings, based on comparative assessment of information provided in their respective CVs. A list of candidates to take part in the testing and an interview with the Selection Board shall be drafted based on the results of those pre-selection proceedings.  

Any applicant who fails to attend the testing and the interview at the time and place as specified in the special notification, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

An application shall be deemed duly completed if it contains all the data and supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements. 

Incomplete and late applications shall not be taken into consideration. 

The PMF collects and processes personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No.035-01/18-01; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

The closing date for submission of applications for all points of the Call is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette.

Applications and the supporting evidence of eligibility under the terms and conditions of the Call should be delivered to the following address: Faculty of Science, Dean’s Office (Human Resources), Zagreb, Horvatovac 102a. 
Applicants should indicate in their applications which point of the Call they are applying for.
