Associate grade and the position of teaching assistant in natural science, the field of biology, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis, to work on the project: Systematic testing of the biological quality elements of phytoplankton, phytobenthos, macrophytes and macrozoobenthos in surface inland waters in 2022, at the Division of Zoology of the Department of Biology, PMF – 1 person.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The Call is open to applicants of both sexes on equal terms.

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, applicants have to meet the conditions set forth in the Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education (Official Gazette Nos 123/03, 198/03, 105/04, 174/04, 2/07, 46/07, 45/09, 63/11, 94/13, 139/13, 101/14,  60/15 and 131/17.)

In addition to their application, for points 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Call applicants submit: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship.

For point 1 of the Call, applicants must satisfy the following condition: to hold a doctorate degree in natural science, the field of biology.

For point 1 of the Call, applicants must satisfy the following additional conditions: to have experience in implementation of molecular genetic research, supported by evidence in the form of published scientific paper.

For point 2 of the Call, applicants must satisfy the following conditions: to hold a doctorate degree in natural science, the field of biology.

For point 2 of the Call, applicants must satisfy the following additional conditions: to have more than 5 years of experience in scientific activity and teaching of genetics and epigenetics, supported by evidence in the form of scientific papers and certificates of course delivery from heads of courses.

For point 2 of the Call, preference will be given to applicants having experience in DNA methylation by bisulphite pyrosequencing and analysis of histone modifications by chromatin immunoprecipitation.

For point 3 of the Call, applicants must satisfy the following condition: to have completed a university graduate study programme in ecology and environmental protection or a university graduate study programme in experimental biology.

For point 3 of the Call, applicants must satisfy the following additional conditions: field and laboratory experience in sampling and analysis of inland water macrozoobenthos and a published scientific paper relevant to the same area.

For point 4 of the Call, applicants must satisfy the following condition: to have completed a university graduate study programme in ecology and environmental protection or a university graduate study programme in experimental biology.

For point 4 of the Call, applicants must satisfy the following additional conditions: field and laboratory experience in sampling and analysis of inland water macrozoobenthos and a published scientific paper relevant to the same area.

In addition to their applications, the applicants for point 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Call must submit evidence to prove that they meet the additional terms and conditions according to the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.

Foreign nationals applying under any point of this Call must submit a Croatian language certificate.

Applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations have to rely on the preference in their application and provide all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same conditions as set forth in the Call, based on a duly completed and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call. An application shall be deemed duly completed if it contains all the data and supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements.

Incomplete and late applications shall not be taken into consideration.

The applicants for point 1 of the Call  that fully meet all the formal terms and conditions of the Call, based on their duly completed and timely application, will be invited for an interview with the Selection Board. The applicants will be separately notified of the time and place of the interview. Any applicants who fail to attend the interview at the time and place as specified in the separate notification, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

The PMF collects and processes the personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifiying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No.035-01/18-01; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

The closing date for submission of applications for all points of the Call is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette.
