All teaching activities will be held in Croatian. However, foreign students in mixed groups will have the opportunity to attend additional office hours with the lecturer and teaching assistants in English to help master the course materials. Additionally, the lecturer will refer foreign students to the corresponding literature in English, as well as give them the possibility of taking the associated exams in English.

Description:
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: To adopt the basic terms and results of the theory of linear models and methods of nonparametric testing. To develop skills in their applications.

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS:
1. Multivariate linear models. An introduction.
2. Estimation of multivariate models
3. Testing hypothesis about parameters of linear models (LR-tests) and confidence regions
4. Applications to ANOVA and ANCOVA methods
5. An introduction to discriminant analysis
6. Linear discriminant coordinates
7. An introduction to the principal components method
8. Finding principal components
9. An introduction to factor analysis
10. Examples
11. Rank-tests. Wilcoxon sign rank test.
12. Nonparametric comparison of two populations. Mann-Whitney-Wilcoxon test.
13. Nonparametric comparison of more than two populations. Kruskal-Wallis test.
