Description:
AIM:

The curriculum of Health education consists of four modules: Living healthy, Prevention of addiction, Prevention of violent behavior, Sexual / gender equality and responsible sexual behavior. The aim of the course is within these modules provide basic content and a methodology to enable the students in their future teaching environment to:
contribute in critical judgment of life situations and actions for responsible decision-making,
aid in the development of tolerance,
influence the development of a positive image of themselves, and
point to the unacceptable behavior and deviant phenomena which cannot be tolerated or ignored.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Explain the importance of taking responsibility for their own health in relation to aspects of nutrition, rest/slep and exercise
2. Make a plan needed to maintain the body's potentials to the optimum level
3. Identify the risks associated with the use of addictive substances
4. Explain the influence of alcohol, smoking and drugs on the body
5. Apply non-violent methods in problem solving
6. Sketch rules for good relations in the classroom while respecting diversity
7. Connect the content (of different aspects) of responsible behavior
8. Recognise, express and represent personal boundaries and needs
9. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of different decisions about sexual activity
10. Explain the risk factors for reproductive health

COURSE CONTENT:
1. Introduction - What is health. Overview. Concepts and approaches to health education
2. Nutrition / (hydration) and eating disorders
3. Hygiene. Rest: sleep / recovery
4. Physical Activity
5. The fundamental concepts of communication. Values. Emotionality.
6. Promotion of responsible behavior. Peer pressure and self-esteem. Self-control
7. Recognition and prevention of violence and bullying in different circumstances: friendship, relationship, sports, etc. Respect for diversity
8. Risk situacije- Challenges and Choices. Promotion of responsible behavior
9. Alcohol, smoking, drugs
10. Dependence on electronic media (computer games, FB, etc.)
11. Development of sexuality in children and youth. Stereotypes about sexuality, sexual rights
12. Developing skills necessary for responsible sexual behavior. Sexual Health (STD), responsibility and respect for your own body
13. Sexuality from the perspective of different religious and cultural perspectives / Contraception
14. Methodology of workshops in teaching health education
15. Conclusion - Integration of health educational content in the school curriculum
