Consultations for the subjects "Geoecology and Environmental Protection", "Applied Geoecology", "Natural Basis in Spatial Planning" and "Natural Basis in Tourism" are held after the lectures of these subjects by prior appointment by e-mail.

Nenad Buzjak was born on 30 September 1968 in Zagreb, where he completed primary and secondary school. He completed the undergraduate study of geography and history (1994), and later postgraduate studies at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb (2006).
From 1994 to 2009, he was a geography teacher at the A. Augustinčić Primary School in Zaprešić. Since 2009, he has been employed at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. He teaches the courses Geoecology and environmental protection, Applied geoecology, and Field course in biology, geography and geology in environmental protection. He also participates in teaching the courses Natural basis in spatial planning, Natural basis in tourism, and Mobile cartography. He won the Brdo award in 2010, as the student’s choice for best lecturer of the Department of Geography.
His areas of scientific interest are geoecology, geomorphology, speleology, photogrametry and nature protection.
From 2007 to 2010 he was a researcher, and from 2010 to 2014 the leader of the Ministry of Science and Education project “Geomorphological cartography of the Republic of Croatia”, and was a researcher on the Ministry of Science and Education project “Geomorphology and geoecology of karst research in the Republic of Croatia”. He has also led or participated in a number of scientific and expert projects.
Since 2021 he is a Research Associate of the Emil Racovita Institute of Speleology (ERIS), Romanian Academy.
He is a member of the professional associations Croatian Geographic Society and Croatian Geomorphological Society. He is one of the founders of the Speleology section of the Croatian Geographic Society (later called the Dinaridi Speleological Society) and the Samobor Speleology Club, where he is an active member and club president. In period 2017-2021 he was the president of the Croatian Speleological Federation.
He is a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal Acta Geographica Croatica, the professional methodology journal Geografski Horizont, the speleological journal Subterranea Croatica and the journal Meridijani.
He has participated in and/or organised a series of speleological, speleodiving and geomorphological studies and expeditions in Croatia, and the results have been presented at conferences in Croatia and abroad and in more than 100 articles, book chapters, newspaper articles, maps and studies. He is author and co-author of two editions of geography textbooks and workbooks for the 8th grade of primary school (publisher Meridijani, Samobor).
