All teaching activities will be held in Croatian. However, foreign students in mixed groups will have the opportunity to attend additional office hours with the lecturer and teaching assistants in English to help master the course materials. Additionally, the lecturer will refer foreign students to the corresponding literature in English, as well as give them the possibility of taking the associated exams in English.

Description:
Evolution of the (planet) Earth; Types of rocks (igneous, sedimentary, metamorphic), types of structures.
The primary structural elements of the lithosphere; the concept of layers and layer; types and kinds of wrinkles.
Tectonics; faults: their genesis and types / kinds of faults. Thurst.
Seismism and volcanism. Plate tectonics.
Interpretation of geological maps, geological profiles and columns. Applied geology - examples.
Paleontological legalities.
Taxonomy of major fossil groups in paleobotanic, paleozoology (invertebrates and vertebrates) micropaleontology. Main extinctions during geological history.
Best examples of evolutionary sequences, and interpretation methods of paleoecological conditions and paleogeography base on the principles of actualism.
