All teaching activities will be held in Croatian. However, foreign students in mixed groups will have the opportunity to attend additional office hours with the lecturer and teaching assistants in English to help master the course materials. Additionally, the lecturer will refer foreign students to the corresponding literature in English, as well as give them the possibility of taking the associated exams in English.

Description:
Learning outcomes:

Students will be able to understand and critically evaluate the importance of soil as a natural resource in the economic development of the country, and the need for its protection.
Students will acquire an active knowledge of the origins, development and properties of soils.
Students will fully understand the effects of physical, chemical and biological processes on the genesis and development of pedosphere.
Students will acquire an active knowledge of the principles of soil classification and soil classification systems.
Students will be able to determine the causes and threats of soil degradation and pollution of the environment that occur in practice.
Students will acquire skills to independently engage in basic soil analysis in laboratories for physics and chemistry of soil.

7. Students will be able to assess the degree of soil vulnerability to damage and to create plans for the land use in a permanently sustainable way.
