COURSE OBJECTIVES:
The objectives of the course Organic chemistry 1 are: familiarization with the general concepts of organic chemistry with the aim of teaching Chemistry in primary and secondary school; understanding of basic concepts of nomenclature of organic compounds, stereochemistry, basic organic reaction mechanisms and spectroscopic characterization of organic compounds.

4-5) Structure and properties of organic compounds;
6) Acids and bases;
7) Conformations of acyclic and cyclic organic compounds;
8-9) Stereochemistry;
10-11) Reactions of organic compounds, reaction mechanism, thermodynamics and kinetics of organic reactions;
12) Nucleophilic substitution mechanisms at saturated carbon atom;
13) Elimination mechanisms;
14) Electrophilic addition mechanisms;
15) Spectroscopic identification of organic compounds; IR spectroscopy and NMR spectroscopy.
