Description:
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Students will be introduced to methods of measuring oceanographic parameters, instruments and work techniques. Apply and expand the theoretical knowledge acquired in the course Physical Oceanography 1.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
After taking the course and passing the exam, students will be able to:
1. carry out simple measurements of hydrographic parameters
2. participate in more complex measurements of oceanographic parameters
3. prepare and organize field work and ensure its successful implementation
4. show independence in the implementation of part of the field work and recognize the importance of cooperation with colleagues

COURSE CONTENT:
Getting to know the practical aspects of sea level measurement with classic and radar tide gauges. Going out to sea on a research ship, demonstration of field work on board. Demonstration of working with a hydrographic probe. Use of classic instruments for measuring hydrographic properties.

Lectures and practical exercises.

METHODS OF MONITORING AND VERIFICATION:
Field diary

TERMS FOR RECEIVING THE SIGNATURE:
The students are obliged to attend all forms of teaching and are obliged to regularly keep the field diary, which at the end of the course is given to the course leader.

EXAMINATION METHODS:
After the duties are duly completed, the students receive a signature without rating.
