Students will learn about the role of stress and trauma of abuse in education and develop skills for preventing abuse and risky student behaviors.
1. Introduction: the role of prevention in the development of a healthy personality
2. The role of stressors and trauma, trauma types and consequences; the relation between stress and trauma with developmental psychopathology
3. Child and juvenile protection - legal framework
4. Physical abuse and prevention
5. Sexual abuse and prevention
6. Emotional abuse and neglect
7. Bullying and the role of teacher in prevention of bullying
8. Teacher-student abuse
9. Peer mediation as method of prevention
10. Consequences - developmental psycholopathology
11. Prevention of antisocial behavior
12. Suicide prevention
13. Teacher's role in prevention
14. Working with parents, police and community towards the prevention of students' risky behaviors

LEARNING OUTCOMES EXPECTED AT THE LEVEL OF THE COURSE:
Students will be able to:
- to understand the symptoms and consequences of physical, sexual and emotional abuse of children
- to give basic legal regulation in the field of child protection
- to understand the obligation of teacher to act in accordance with the legal norms of child protection
- to recognize bullying
- to understand the role of stress and trauma in the development of risky behaviors
- to explain the role of teachers in the prevention of child abuse and the development of risky behaviors
