Description:
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: In this course, students are introduced to differential and integral calculus of functions of one variable, including applications such as optimization and the analysis of function behavior, as well as to the concept of differential equations and Taylor series.

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS:
1. Derivatives. Derivative of a function of one variable, rules of differentiation, higher-order derivatives, implicit differentiation. Extrema of functions, mean value theorems. Investigation of the behavior of a function and its graph. Taylor's mean value theorem.
2. Integrals. Area and integral (definite integral), antiderivative (indefinite integral). Rules and techniques of integration. Applications of integration to the computation of volumes and surfaces. Improper integrals. Differential equations.
3. Series. Cauchy convergence criteria. Power series. Taylor series.
