COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: The aim of the Seminar is to qualify students for an autonomous extensive and team work: research, literature search (on all media, printed and electronic, esspecialy Internet), preparation of project work (written esey) and oral presentation. Specifically, students will work on themes from the field of ICT that are not covered in details by other courses. Topics will be of importance for the prospective teachers of the ICT. The choice of topics will enable students to develope skils for problem and modern approach that are basic principles of the teaching on all educational levels.
COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS: Seminar - Selected Topics in Computer Science is organized in the form of project work. Three students form a project team. The project task is to elaborate a given topic and present results in the written form and by oral presentation to other attendants of the seminar. Project is realized in three stages:
1. Establishment of project teams and choice of project topic. (1 week). Following topics will be given to students: Programming paradigmas, Safety of computer systems, Web technology, Computer graphics, Multimedial systems.
2. Work on the project. (6 weeks) Each project team autonoumosly work on project realization (research, literature search, information search and selection, preparation of the report and presentation). During this period, meetings of project teams members and the teacher will be held on the regular basis. Teams will inform the teacher about the progress on the project, and the teacher will help by giving the directions for future development.
3. Public presentation of the results. (8 weeks) Each project team will present results of their research to other attendants of the seminar
