COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: Phyics is a fundamental science describing phenomena and processes in the macro- and microworld, including the furthermost points in the Universe. The courses in Fundamentals of physics (1, 2, 3 and 4) represent an inseparable whole, through which the students acquire important concepts, required to successfully continue and end the study of physics, or any dual master course that includes physics.
COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS:
1. Temperature. Heat as a transfer of energy. Calorimetry. Heat capacity. Transformation of states of matter. Phase diagram. Triple point, critical temperature. Equation of state of ideal and real gases. Isothermic, adiabatic, isobaric and isohoric changes of states.
2. Kinetic theory of gases. Internal energy. Transmission of heat. Plancks law of blackbody radiation. Reversible processes. Zeroth and the first law of thermodynamics. Enthalpy. Second law of thermodynamics. Dithermic heat engine. Change of system entropy in an irreversible process. Ditermički kružni proces. Promjena entropije sustava i prirode u ireverzibilnom procesu.
