Description:
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
The aim of the Physics 2 course is to master the basics of physics with selected examples from the fields of biology and chemistry. The emphasis of the course is on getting to know the basic physical concepts that are the basis for understanding phenomena and processes in biology and chemistry, and getting to know the different physical methods (spectroscopy, analytical methods, etc.) that are available for their study.

COURSE CONTENT:

LECTURES AND EXERCISES
1) Thermodynamics;
2) Brownian motion and diffusion:
3) Waves and sound;
4) Optics. Reflection and refraction of light. Interference of light;
5) Microscope. Spectrophotometry;
6) Optical properties of solutions. Optical activity of solutions. Polarization;
7) Electric forces and electric fields;
8) Electric circuits. Ohm's law;
9) Magnetic forces and magnetic fields;
10) Electromagnetic induction;
11) Electromagnetic waves. Spectrum of electromagnetic radiation;
12) The nature of atoms. Absorption of electromagnetic radiation;
13) Ionizing radiation.
