TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The Call is open to applicants of either gender on equal terms.

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, for any point of the Call the applicants must satisfy the requirements set out in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No 119/22).

For all points of the Call, in addition to the application the applicants submit: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship.

For point 1, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

• a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of biology;
• minimum two years of post-doctoral experience of experimental work related to the cell and molecular biology. The supporting documents should include the postdoctoral training and/or the research papers resulting therefrom;

For point 2, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions:  

• a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of biology;
• research experience related to systematic botany (taxonomy and phylogeny), flora and biogeography. The supporting documents should include published work and the teaching experience (course certificates related to the relevant areas).

For point 3, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions: 

• doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of biology;
• experience of the scientific research and teaching in the areas of plant physiology, and the plant stress physiology. The supporting documents should include a course certificate related to the relevant areas;

For point 4, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions: 

• a completed university graduate study programme in Geology or a university graduate study programme in Environmental Geology or a university graduate study programme in Geological Engineering or a related geological study programme, as well as a good academic performance at the undergraduate and graduate levels (an individual grade average of at least 4.00 for each study programme).
• knowledge of and experience in mineralogical/petrological research. The supporting documents should include the diploma and the accompanying supplement, as well as the candidate’s CV;

For point 5, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions: 

• a completed university graduate study programme in Geology or a university graduate study programme in Environmental Geology or a university graduate study programme in Geological Engineering or a related geological study programme, as well as a good academic performance at the undergraduate and graduate levels (an individual grade average of at least 4.00 for each study programme).
• knowledge of and experience in geological/paleontological research. The supporting documents should include the diploma and the accompanying supplement, as well as the candidate’s CV.

For point 6, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions: 

• a completed university integrated undergraduate and graduate study programme in Physics, research-oriented (a grade point average of at least 4.00).

For points 1, 2 and 3, in addition to the application, the applicants should provide a proof of eligibility under the additional terms and conditions in accordance with the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.

For points 4 and 5, the applicants should enclose with their application a proof of eligibility under the additional terms and conditions in accordance with the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Research-Teaching, Teaching and Associate Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.

For all points of the Call the applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations should refer to the preference in their application and enclose therewith all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights, as well as all evidence of eligibility and of absence of any impediment to their exercising of the priority placement rights as stipulated under the special regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call and that they have achieved top scores in the pre-selection tests.   

An application shall be deemed duly completed and complete if it contains all the data and the supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements. Incomplete, disorganised, and late applications shall not be taken into consideration, nor will there be a subsequent invitation to the applicants to amend such applications.

Foreign nationals must provide a Croatian language certificate for all points of the Call.

All the applicants applying for point 1 who are fully eligible under the formal terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, shall be part of the pre-selection procedure consisting of a comparative evaluation of the information provided in their respective CVs. Based on the results of the pre-selection procedure, a list will be drawn of the applicants to be invited for an interview with the Selection Board.

The applicants will receive a separate invitation advising them of the time and place of the interview. Any applicants who fail to attend the interview at the time and the place as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

All the applicants applying for points 2, 3, and 6 who are fully eligible under the formal terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, shall be invited for an interview with the Selection Board.

The applicants will receive a separate invitation advising them of the time and place of the interview. Any applicants who fail to attend the interview at the time and the place as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

The assessment of the applicants for points 4 and 5 of the Call may include the following selection procedures:

• a written test of knowledge, skills and capabilities that are relevant for the appointment;
• English language proficiency test;
• interview with the candidates; and
• psychological testing.

All the applicants applying for points 4 and 5 who are fully eligible under the formal terms and conditions of the Call shall be invited to take part in the first selection procedure. For the subsequent selection procedures, if any, the candidates shall be invited in the order of their respective results achieved in the prior selection procedures.

The applicants will receive an e-mail advising them of the time, place, legal sources and the methodology of the selection procedures.

Any applicants who fail to attend any of the selection procedures they were invited to attend, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings

The PMF collects and processes personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No: 035-01/18-01/5; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

The closing date for the submission of applications for the Call is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette. 

The results of the Call will be published on the official website of the PMF: www.pmf.unizg.hr (Competitions).
