TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The Call is open to applicants of either gender on equal terms.

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, for any point of the Call the applicants must satisfy the requirements set out in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No 119/22).

For all points of the Call, in addition to the application the applicants submit: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship.

The applicants for point 1 of the Call must enclose with their application other supporting documents as a proof of eligibility according to the terms and conditions of the Call in accordance with Article 10 of the Ordinance on the Appointment into Grades and Positions at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science, which can be accessed on the PMF website:

The applicants must also enclose a Declaration of Originality for their published academic output, confirming that all the papers and achievements they refer to are the original results of their work and that they do not contain any sources other than the ones mentioned and acknowledged therein. Furthermore, the applicants for point 1 of the Call must also provide the evidence to prove that they meet the individual general and special terms and conditions according to the Decision on the essential terms and conditions for assessment of the teaching, and professional activities within the framework of appointment into the teaching grades (Official Gazette No 13/12) Narodne novine 13/2012 and its subsequent amendment (Official Gazette no. 120/2021)  Narodne novine 120/2021 .

For point 2, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

• a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of biology;
• experience in teaching practical courses based on the cellular and molecular biology methods. The supporting documents may include for example, by certificates from the course instructor about the candidate's participation in teaching practical courses.

The applicants for point 3 of the Call must satisfy the following conditions:

• a completed university integrated undergraduate and graduate study programme of Biology and Chemistry, teaching-oriented; or a university graduate study programme of Experimental Biology; or a university graduate study programme of Ecology and Nature Preservation; or a university graduate study programme of Molecular Biology; or a university graduate study programme of Environmental Sciences;
• experience in microbiology. The supporting documents may include for example, by attaching a separate scientific article, a contribution to a congress announcement, a thesis and/or a paper for the Rector's Award in microbiology, by doing laboratory professional practice in a microbiology laboratory, by participating in teaching as a demonstrator in the field of microbiology, and other relevant evidence.

For points 1, 2 and 3, the applicants should attach to their application a proof of eligibility under the additional terms and conditions in accordance with the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.

For all points of the Call the applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations should refer to the preference in their application and enclose therewith all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights, as well as all evidence of eligibility and of absence of any impediment to their exercising of the priority placement rights as stipulated under the special regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call and that they have achieved top scores in the selection procedures.   

An application shall be deemed duly completed and complete if it contains all the data and the supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements. Incomplete, disorganised, and late applications shall not be taken into consideration, nor shall the applicants be invited to amend them subsequently.

The assessment of the applicants applying for points 1, 2 and 3 of the Call may take the form of the following selection procedure:

• an interview with the candidates.

In the separate e-mail invitation, the applicants will be informed of the time, place, legal sources and the method of selection that will be applied in the procedure.

Any applicants who fail to attend any of the selection procedures as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

The PMF collects and processes personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No: 035-01/18-01/5; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

The closing date for the submission of applications for the Call is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette. 

The results of the Call will be published on the official website of the PMF: www.pmf.unizg.hr (Competitions).
