TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The Call is open to applicants of either gender on equal terms.

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, for any point of the Call the applicants must satisfy the requirements set out in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No 119/22).

For all points of the Call, the applicants must enclose the following with their application: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship.

For point 1, the applicants must enclose the following with their respective applications: a photocopy of the decision concerning their appointment into a research grade (if any), the proofs of the research, teaching and professional work, the reprints of papers, and a certificate of registration and citation in the relevant databases – Web of Science Core Collection, Scopus, Medline, and other databases relevant for specific science fields. The applicants must also enclose a Declaration of Originality for their published academic output, confirming that all their papers and achievements they refer to are the original results of their work and that they do not contain any sources other than the ones mentioned and acknowledged therein. The applicants under point 1 must also satisfy the following additional condition:

• experience related to x-ray diffraction methods of structural analysis and other methods of examining solid state matter, and the magnetic and/or sorption and/or mechanical properties of materials (please enclose the reprints of published papers and/or evidence of conference proceedings and similar).

For point 2, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions: 

• to have completed a university graduate study programme in Chemistry, research-focused;  
• 5 years of working experience in an expert associate position within the system of higher education and science (please enclose the electronic record of the legal employment status i.e. the e-employment history, or a Croatian Pension Insurance Fund certificate and an employer certificate, or the employment contracts; to demonstrate the work experience in the relevant positions);
• to have published, since the last appointment to the position of an expert associate, either as an independent or the first or the main author, a scientific paper, with the provision that such a scientific paper may be replaced by three scientific papers written in co-authorship, or with an independent or the first or the main authorship of three professional papers related to the relevant field (please enclose the published research or professional papers);
• additional condition: - experience related to x-ray diffraction methods of structural analysis and other methods of examining solid state matter (please enclose the reprints of published papers).

For point 3, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions: 

• a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of chemistry;
• knowledge of and/or experience in natural sciences, the field of chemistry;
• additional condition: - working experience related to the analytical application of the combined liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry (LC-MS) systems (please enclose the theses or the reprints of published papers and/or the proofs of science conference proceedings).

For point 4, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions: 

• a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of physics, the branch of condensed matter physics.

For point 5, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions: 

• a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of physics, the branch of condensed matter physics;
• to satisfy the senior assistant employment criteria as stipulated by the Croatian Science Foundation, which can be accessed at the following weblink:  https://hrzz.hr/provedba/zaposljavanje-na-hrzz-projekte/;
• additional condition: - scientific and research experience relating to the physics of condensed  matter (please enclose a link to the doctoral thesis and published scientific papers on which the candidate is involved  co-author),
•  an interest in experimental science and research focusing on the topics of magnetism, magnetic transport, and dielectric properties of materials (please enclose the motivation letter).

For point 6, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

• to have completed a university graduate study programme of Ecology and Nature Preservation or a university graduate study programme of Environmental Sciences;
• additional conditions: - a minimum of 1-year experience of field work with the samples of freshwater phytobenthos and phytoplankton, and a minimum of 1-year experience in assessing the ecological status based on phytobenthos and phytoplankton as the biological quality elements; the experience related to writing final project reports; the experience related to determination of phytobenthos diatoms (please enclose supporting documents to prove participation in a project relating to the examination of the phytoplankton and phytobenthos and the assessment of the ecological state of freshwater bodies, and a certificate to prove the work on the aforementioned biological quality elements, including determination of phytobenthos diatoms, signed by the project leader, as well as a photocopy of the first and the introductory pages of the project report, to confirm the applicant’s involvement);
• a B-category driving license (please enclose a photocopy of the driving license, a certificate of successful driving test).

For points 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6, foreign nationals must provide a Croatian language certificate.

For all points of the Call the applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations should refer to the preference in their application and enclose therewith all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights, as well as all evidence of eligibility and of absence of any impediment to their exercising of the priority placement rights as stipulated under the special regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call and that they have achieved top scores in the selection procedures.   

An application shall be deemed duly completed and complete if it contains all the data and the supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements. Incomplete, disorganised, and late applications shall not be taken into consideration, nor will there be a subsequent invitation to the applicants to amend such applications.

The assessment of the applicants for points 1, 2, 3 and 5 of the Call may include the following selection procedures:

• an interview with the candidates.

All the applicants applying for point 4 who are fully eligible under the formal terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, shall be part of the selection procedure consisting of a comparative evaluation of the information provided in their respective CVs.

The assessment of the applicants for points 6 of the Call may include the following selection procedures:

• a written test of knowledge, skills and capabilities that are relevant for the position;
• an interview with the candidates.

The applicants who are eligible under the formal terms and conditions may be invited to take part in the selection procedure(s).

In the event there will be more than a single selection procedure, the applicants will be invited to take part in individual procedures depending on the results achieved in previous selection procedures.

The applicants will receive an e-mail advising them of the time, place, legal sources and the applicable selection method for any procedure they are invited to take part in.

Any applicant who fails to attend the interview at the time and the place as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

The PMF collects and processes personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No: 035-01/18-01/5; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

The closing date for the submission of applications for all points of the Call is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette.
