TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The Call is open to applicants of either gender on equal terms.

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, for any point of the Call the applicants must satisfy the requirements set out in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No 119/22).

The applicants must enclose the following with their respective applications: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship.

The applicants for point 1 must satisfy the following conditions:

• to have completed a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of biology
• additional conditions: - experience in scientific work in the field of integrative taxonomy,                                                                                                               systematics and evolutionary biology of invertebrates (supporting documents should include published                                              papers focused on the relevant areas of research where the applicant is the main author)

                                                     -    experience in teaching practicums (supporting documents should include

                                                           teaching certificates)

The applicants under point 2 of the Call must satisfy the following conditions:

• to have completed a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of biology
• additional conditions - knowledge and experience in the field of microbiology (supporting documents should include reprints of                                           papers, documents proving relevant work experience or project work experience focused on similar topics                                         etc.)

                                         - experience relating to molecular biology and bioinformation methods and

                                            techniques (supporting documents should include reprints of papers, documents proving relevant work                                                        experience or project work experience focused on similar topics, certificates of skills acquired, etc.)

The applicants under point 3 of the Call must satisfy the following conditions: 

• to have completed a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of biology
• additional conditions - knowledge and experience in the field of molecular microbiology, genomics and transcriptomics, experience in molecular biology methods and techniques, experience in working with plant model systems and bioinformation methods (supporting documents should include a list of  published research papers and conference proceedings, course or workshop certificates, graduation thesis and/or the Rector’s award winning paper, and other relevant work) 

The applicants under point 4 of the Call must satisfy the following conditions:

• to have completed a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of physics                                 

The applicants under point 5 of the Call must satisfy the following conditions:                  

• to have completed a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of chemistry                                
• additional conditions – experience in using instrumental techniques (supporting documents may include theses or dissertations,                                            reprints of research papers and/or conference proceedings)

The applicants under point 6 of the Call must satisfy the following conditions:    

• to have completed graduate studies in Chemistry, research-oriented                                
• additional conditions – participation in research and scientific work relating to the synthesis and characterization of organic                                                  compounds (supporting documents should include theses or dissertations and conference                                                                    proceedings)

For points 1, 2 and 3 of the Call the applicants must enclose with their application a proof of eligibility under the additional terms and conditions in accordance with the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.

For points 5 and 6 of the Call, the applicants must enclose with their application a proof of eligibility under the additional terms and conditions in accordance with the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.  For all points of the Call the applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations should refer to the preference in their application and enclose therewith all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights, as well as all evidence of eligibility and of absence of any impediment to their exercising of the priority placement rights as stipulated under the special regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call.

An application shall be deemed duly completed and complete if it contains all the data and the supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements. Incomplete, disorganised, and late applications shall not be taken into consideration, nor will there be a subsequent invitation to the applicants to amend such applications 

For points 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6, foreign nationals must provide a Croatian language certificate.

The applicants for points 1, 3 and 4 may be invited to take part in the following selection procedure:

• an interview with the candidate.

The applicants will receive an e-mail advising them of the time and place of the interview they are invited to take part in.

Any applicant who fails to attend the interview at the time and the place as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

In case of a high number of applications (more than 5) for points 2, 5 and 6 of the Call, a preselection procedure shall be carried out among the applicants fully satisfying the Call requirements and having submitted a duly completed, complete and timely application, based on a comparative assessment of their respective CVs. Depending on the results of the preselection procedure, a shortlist of applicants will be invited for an interview with the Selection Board.

The shortlisted applicants will receive a separate invitation detailing the time and place of the interview.

Any applicant who fails to attend the interview at the time and the place as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

The PMF collects and processes personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No: 035-01/18-01/5; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

The closing date for the submission of applications for all points of the Call is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette. 

The results of the Call will be published on the official website of the PMF: www.pmf.unizg.hr (Competitions).
