TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The Call is open to applicants of either gender on equal terms.

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, the applicants must satisfy the requirements set out in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No 119/22).

The applicants for all points of the Call must enclose the following with their application: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship.

The applicants for point 1 must satisfy the following conditions: 

• to have a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of biology;
• additional conditions: - knowledge and experience related to proteomics and molecular plant biology, based on the enclosed theses and dissertations, and/or scientific papers and/or science conference proceedings.

The applicants for point 2 must satisfy the following conditions:

• to have a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of biology;
• additional conditions – knowledge and experience related to the molecular genetics of bacteria, and the experience related to the molecular biology and bioinformatics methods and techniques, based on the attached scientific papers and/or diploma. 

The applicants for point 3 must satisfy the following conditions:

• to have a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of biology;
• additional conditions – experience in biomedical research, based on the attached published scientific papers and/or scientific conference proceedings.

The applicants for point 4 must satisfy the following conditions:

• to have a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of chemistry;
• additional conditions – experience in solution thermodynamics research, based on the attached thesis and/or doctoral dissertation and/or the reprints of the relevant scientific papers or the relevant CV references.

The applicants for point 5 must satisfy the following conditions:

• to have completed a university graduate study programme in physics (M.Phys. /pre-Bologna graduate physics engineer) or a university integrated undergraduate and graduate study programme in physics (M.Phys. / pre-Bologna graduate physics engineer);

The applicants under points 1, 2, and 3 of the Call should enclose with their respective applications a proof of eligibility under the additional terms and conditions in accordance with the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the PMF’s Department of Biology, University of Zagreb.

The applicants under point 4 of the Call should enclose with their respective applications a proof of eligibility under the additional terms and conditions in accordance with the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the PMF’s Department of Chemistry, University of Zagreb. The applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations should refer to the preference in their application and enclose therewith all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights, as well as all evidence of eligibility and of absence of any impediment to their exercising of the priority placement rights as stipulated under the special regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call, and they achieved top scores in the selection procedures.   

An application shall be deemed duly completed and complete if it contains all the data and the supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements. Incomplete, disorganised, and late applications shall not be taken into consideration, nor will there be a subsequent invitation to the applicants to amend such applications.

Foreign nationals applying under points 3, 4, and 5 of the Call should provide a Croatian language certificate.

The applicants under points 1, 2, and 3 of the Call who are fully eligible under the formal terms and conditions of the Call, may be invited to take part in an interview.   

The applicants invited to take part in the interview will receive a separate e-mail advising them of the time and place of the interview.

Any applicants who fail to attend the interview, as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

The assessment of the applicants under point 5 of the Call may take form of the following selection procedures:

• a written test of knowledge, skills and abilities that are relevant to the appointment in question,
• an English language test; and
• an interview with the applicants.

The eligible applicants shall be invited to take part in the first selection procedure.

An invitation to take part in the subsequent selection procedures, if any, will be sent to the applicants depending on the results achieved in the previous selection procedures.

A separate e-mail with the information regarding the time and place and the applicable type of selection procedure will be sent to the applicants invited to take part therein.

Any applicants who fail to attend a selection procedure, as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

In case of a higher number of applications received (more than 5) under point 4 of the Call, a pre-selection procedure will be carried out among all the eligible applicants who submitted a duly completed, complete and timely application, based on a comparable assessment of the information provided in their respective CVs. The results of the pre-selection procedures will be used to draft a list of applicants to be invited to an interview with the members of the Selection Board.

A separate e-mail with the information regarding the time and place of the interview will be sent to the relevant applicants. Any applicants who fail to attend the interview as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

The PMF collects and processes personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No: 035-01/18-01/5; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

The closing date for the submission of applications under points 1, 2, 3, and 5 of the Call is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette. 

The closing date for the submission of applications under point 4 of the Call is 35 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette.

The results of the Call will be published on the official website of the PMF: www.pmf.unizg.hr (Competitions).
