Pursuant to Article 77 of the Faculty Statutes, the Faculty Council of the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Science (hereinafter: the PMF) announces the following:

for the appointment

 

1)  of an associate to the associate category I position - assistant in natural science, the field of physics, the branch of physics of condensed matter, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis, to work on the Croatian Science Foundation project: Young Researchers' Career Development – Training New Doctoral Students (DOK-2025-02), IP-2024-05-4586 Criticality in strongly correlated materials tuned under extreme conditions (Critical-Tex), at the Division of Experimental Physics of the PMF’s Department of Physics – 1 person

6)  of an associate to the associate category I position - assistant in natural science, the field of geophysics, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis, to work on the following project: Croatian Science Foundation- MAPS Seconds Matter: Cutting-edge Earthquake Early Warning Systems, at the Andrija Mohorovičić Geophysical Institute of the PMF’s Department of Geophysics – 1 person

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The Call is open to applicants of either gender on equal terms.

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, for any point of the Call the applicants must satisfy the requirements set out in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No 119/22).

 

The applicants applying under any point of the Call must enclose the following with their application: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship, the transcript of records of the completed university undergraduate and graduate studies or university integrated studies.

 

The applicants for point 1 must satisfy the following conditions:

  • a completed university graduate or integrated undergraduate and graduate study programme in physics;
  • eligibility for enrolment in a doctoral study programme in physics;
  • incomplete doctoral studies.

The applicants for point 2 must satisfy the following conditions:

  • a completed university graduate or integrated undergraduate and graduate study programme in physics;
  • eligibility for enrolment in a doctoral study programme in physics;
  • incomplete doctoral studies.

The applicants for point 3 must satisfy the following conditions:

  • a completed university graduate study programme in geography: physical geography with geoecology;
  • an overall grade point average at the previous study levels (undergraduate, graduate) of at least 3.5;
  • eligibility for enrolment in a doctoral study programme in geography;
  • incomplete doctoral studies.

The applicants for point 4 must satisfy the following conditions:

  • a completed university graduate study programme in physics - geophysics: meteorology and physical oceanography or a similar university study programme in meteorology;
  • an overall grade point average at the previous study levels (undergraduate, graduate) of at least 3.5;
  • eligibility for enrolment in a doctoral study programme in geophysics;
  • incomplete doctoral studies.

The applicants for point 5 must satisfy the following conditions:

  • a completed university graduate study programme in physics - geophysics: meteorology and physical oceanography or a similar university natural science study programme;
  • an overall grade point average at the previous study levels (undergraduate, graduate) of at least 3.5;
  • eligibility for enrolment in a doctoral study programme in geophysics;
  • incomplete doctoral studies.

The applicants for point 6 must satisfy the following conditions:

  • a completed university graduate study programme in physics – geophysics or a similar university natural science study programme;
  • eligibility for enrolment in a doctoral study programme in geophysics;
  • incomplete doctoral studies.

Foreign nationals applying under points 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 must provide a Croatian language certificate.

 

The applicants applying under any point of the Call who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations should refer to the preference in their application and enclose therewith all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights, as well as all evidence of eligibility and of absence of any impediment to their exercising of the priority placement rights as stipulated under the special regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call and that they have achieved top scores in selection procedures. 

 

An application shall be deemed duly completed and complete if it contains all the data and the supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements. Incomplete, disorganised, and late applications shall not be taken into consideration, nor will there be a subsequent invitation to the applicants to amend such applications.

 

The assessment of the applicants for points 1, 3, and 6 of the Call may take the form of the following selection procedure:

  • an interview with the applicants.

The assessment of the applicants for points 2, 4, and 5 of the Call may take the form of the following selection procedures:

  • a written test of knowledge, skills and abilities which are essential for the position that will be filled pursuant to this Call;
  • an interview with the applicants;
  • psychological testing.  

The applicants who fully satisfy the formal terms and conditions of the Call will be invited to take part in the first selection procedure.

If necessary, the applicants will be invited to take part in the additional selection procedures depending on the results achieved in the previous selection procedure.

 

The applicants invited to take part in a selection procedure will receive a special e-mail invitation with the details of time, place and the chosen selection procedure.  

 

Applicants who fail to attend any of the selection procedures they have been invited to pursuant to the special e-mail invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

 

The PMF collects and processes personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No: 035-01/18-01/5; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

 

The closing date for the submission of applications for point 1 of the Call is 90 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette. 

 

The closing date for the submission of applications for points 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of the Call is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette.

 

The results of the Call will be published on the official PMF website: www.pmf.unizg.hr (Competitions).
