Description:
OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE
The course objective is to improve computer knowledge of future teachers to independently can use computers in the classroom and to integrate e-learning into their classes. It will be a major emphasis given to Python as a programming tool for use in education. Students will develop the skills of verbal and computer communications for the purpose of solving complex tasks.

LEARNING OUTCOMES AT THE LEVEL OF THE PROGRAMME

1. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- describe the latest developments in digital technology and their possible application in teaching;
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of new insights into contemporary physics and informatics teaching methods and strategies;
- integrate physics and informatics content knowledge with knowledge of pedagogy, psychology, didactics and teaching methods courses;

2. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- apply fundamental algorithms in programming;
- use computing technology to solve scientific and technological problems

3. MAKING JUDGMENTS
develop clear and measurable learning outcomes and objectives in teaching based on curriculum goals;

4. COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- communicate effectively with pupils and colleagues;
- present complex ideas clearly and concisely;
- present their own research results at education or scientific meetings;

5. LEARNING SKILLS
- remain informed of new developments and methods in physics, informatics and education;

LEARNING OUTCOMES SPECIFIC FOR THE COURSE:

Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
- Apply modern teaching approaches using the computers ;
- Use programming language Python as a programming tool suitable for use in teaching
- Plan and execute tasks through team work ;
- Clearly and succinctly expose problems and its own achievements ;

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

1. The basic elements of e-learning. Organizational Structure. Instructional design, organization and management of e-learning.
2. Searching information. Specialized educational search engines. Repositories of educational content.
3. Python programming.
4. Using Python in education.
5. Python in informatics teaching.
6. Python in physics teaching.
7. Electronic publishing: the use of drawings, animations, photos and videos in the design of educational materials.
8. Tools for organizing and conducting education in a virtual workspace.
9. Digital knowledge assessment methodologies, questionnaires, quizzes.
10. Using computer as a measuring instrument, on-line data collection and processing.

REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS:

Attendance (80 % homeworks and projects ) , preparation of final seminar .

GRADING AND ASSESSING THE WORK OF STUDENTS:

The primary components of the final grade are: a) cumulative score of tasks and projects related to the lectures and e-learning (typically 10 tasks and projects) b) seminar (presentation and content quality), c) practical skills in computer lab tasks, as well as cooperation and communication during the semester. Activity through the Merlin system.
