TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The Call is open to applicants of both sexes on equal terms.

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, applicants have to meet the conditions set forth in the Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education (Official Gazette Nos 123/03, 198/03, 105/04, 174/04, 2/07, 46/07, 45/09, 63/11, 94/13, 139/13, 101/14,  60/15 and 131/17.)

In addition to the application, for points 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Call applicants have to submit: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship.

In addition to the application, for point 1 of the Call applicants also have to submit other supporting documents to prove that they meet the terms and conditions in accordance with Article 10 of the Ordinance on the Appointment into Grades and Positions at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science, which can be accessed on the PMF website.

In addition to the application, for point 1 of the Call applicants have to submit: a photocopy of the decision concerning the appointment into the research grade (if any), proofs of the research, teaching and professional work, the reprints of papers and a certificate of registration and citation in relevant databases – Web of Science Core Collection, Scopus, Medline and other databases relevant for specific science fields. The applicants also have to submit a Declaration of Originality for their published academic output, confirming that all the papers and achievements they refer to are the original results of their work and that they do not contain any sources other than the ones mentioned and acknowledged therein. For point 1 of the Call, applicants have to satisfy the following additional condition: to have the knowledge of and work experience in the field of analytical atomic spectrometry and plasma spectrometric methods, supported by evidence in the form of a doctoral thesis and research papers published in journals (WoSCC, Scopus) in the categories of chemistry, spectroscopy, analytical chemistry and chemistry of materials.

For point 2 of the Call, applicants have to satisfy the following conditions: to hold a doctorate degree in the area of natural science, the field of chemistry.

For point 2 of the Call, applicants have to satisfy the following additional conditions: to have work experience in research activities in the field of protein biosynthesis and enzyme reaction kinetics outside of the steady state, supported by evidence in the form of a doctoral thesis and published research papers.

In addition to the application, for point 1 and 2 of the Call applicants have to submit evidence to prove that they meet the additional terms and conditions according to the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.

For point 3 of the Call, applicants have to satisfy the following condition: to have completed a university graduate study programme in experimental biology, ecology and environmental protection and/or ecological science or an integrated undergraduate and graduate university study programme in biology and chemistry.

For point 3 of the Call, applicants have to satisfy the following additional conditions: to have experience in ichthyological research and molecular biology techniques; to have participated in professional projects in which molecular genetics techniques were used on freshwater fish; to have teaching experience as a university demonstrator. The supporting evidence includes: a CV (with referees’ contact details for verification purposes), the cover pages of completed professional projects and/or project participation certificates issued by project managers/experts and/or references by scientists and teaching staff and/or research papers and/or congress abstracts and/or proof of experience as a university demonstrator.

For point 4 of the Call, applicants have to satisfy the following condition: to have completed a university graduate study programme in experimental biology, ecology and environmental protection and/or ecological science; or an integrated undergraduate and graduate university study programme in biology and chemistry.

For point 4 of the Call, applicants have to satisfy the following additional conditions: to have experience in ichthyological research and freshwater fish conservation projects, a category B driving licence, a category B boat operator licence, teaching experience as a university demonstrator.

The supporting evidence includes: a CV (with referees’ contacts for verification purposes), the cover pages of completed professional projects and/or project participation certificates issued by project managers/experts, and/or references by scientists and teaching staff, and/or research papers, and/or congress abstracts, and/or proof of experience as a university demonstrator, a photocopy of the driving licence; and a photocopy of a boat operator licence.

For point 5 of the Call, applicants have to satisfy the following condition: to have completed a university graduate study programme in environmental sciences or ecology and environmental protection.

For point 5 of the Call, applicants have to satisfy the following additional conditions: prior participation in research activities, a minimum of two-year field work experience, and a minimum of two-year experience in freshwater diatom species taxonomy, published papers, individual presentations at scientific conferences. The applicants are expected to have advanced level computer skills and to speak and write English fluently.

In addition to the application, for points 3, 4 and 5 of the Call applicants have to submit evidence to prove that they meet the additional terms and conditions according to the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.

Foreign nationals have to submit a Croatian language certificate for all points of the Call.

Applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations have to rely on the preference in their application and provide all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same conditions as set forth in the Call, based on a duly completed and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call. An application shall be deemed duly completed if it contains all the data and supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements.

Incomplete and late applications shall not be taken into consideration.

For point 2 of the Call, all the eligible applicants under the terms and conditions of the Call who have submitted duly completed and timely applications will participate in a preselection procedure consisting of a comparative assessment of the information contained in their respective CVs. Based on the outcome of the preselection procedure, a list will be drafted of applicants to be invited for a test and an interview with the members of the Selection Board.

For point 5 of the Call, all the eligible applicants under the terms and conditions of the Call who have submitted duly completed and timely applications will be invited to sit for a test – Determining diatom genera in permanent slides.

The PMF collects and processes the personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifiying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No.035-01/18-01; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

The closing date for submission of applications for all points of the Call is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette.
