for the appointment of  

 

A project member to work on the following ERC Synergy Grant project: “Molecular origins of aneuploidies in healthy and diseased human tissues-ANEUPLOIDY”, for a fixed term, subject to a six- (6) month probation period, on a full-time basis, at the Division of Theoretical Physics of the PMF’s Department of Physics - 1 person.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

 

The Call is open to applicants of both sexes on equal terms.

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, the applicants have to meet the additional conditions set forth in this Call, in accordance with the needs of the Project.

 

The applicants must satisfy the following condition: to have completed a doctoral study programme in natural sciences or in technical sciences.

 

The applicants must also satisfy the following additional conditions:

  • work experience in theoretical biophysical modelling, as evident from the published papers relevant to the subject;
  • excellent knowledge of computer programmes such as C, C++, R, MALTAB, Python and other;
  • active knowledge of both written and spoken English;

Preference of employment shall be granted to the following candidates:

  • candidates having the experience in microtubule modelling;
  • candidates having work experience in international science institutions (a minimum of 1 year);
  • candidates having published research papers relevant to the biophysics field, including on the motor proteins and microtubules; and
  • candidates having actively participated in science conferences and workshops.

In addition to the documents required under the terms and conditions of this Call, the applicants should also submit: two letters of recommendations, including from the doctoral dissertation mentor.

 

The applicants submit the following documents in addition to their respective applications:

  • a CV;
  • the relevant diploma/degree;
  • a proof of citizenship;
  • a proof of English proficiency (a copy of a certificate, student book, transcript of the academic record, language course certificates/attestations/diplomas);
  • evidence of computer skills (certificates/attestations/diplomas/ and other documents proving computer proficiency).

The job description for the selected project member includes:

  • working on the most complex tasks as part of the “Molecular origins of aneuploidies in healthy and diseased human tissues-ANEUPLOIDY” project;
  • developing a theoretical model to describe the bi-, tri-, and multi-polar spindles, including the microtubules, motor proteins, chromosomes, and centrosomes, as well as their mechanical properties;
  • other tasks determined by the PMF management bodies, the PMF College, department or division heads, and the project leader, subject to the law, the secondary legislation, and the collective agreement. 

The applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations must invoke the preference in their application and provide all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same conditions as set forth in the Call, based on a duly completed and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call. The applicants who have submitted their application and satisfy all the formal terms and conditions of the Call based on their duly completed, complete and timely application, will be invited for an interview with the Selection Board.

 

The applicants will receive a separate interview confirmation with the details concerning the time and place of the interview.

 

Any applicants who fail to attend the interview at the time and place as specified in the separate notification, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

 

An application shall be deemed duly completed and complete if it contains all the data and supporting documents and attachments in keeping with the Call requirements.

 

Incomplete and late applications shall not be taken into consideration.

 

The PMF collects and processes the personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifiying their qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No.035-01/18-01; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

 

The closing date for the submission of applications for all points of the Call is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette

 

The results of the Call will be published on the PMF website: www.pmf.unizg.hr (Competitions).
