                The Faculty Council of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science (hereinafter: the PMF), pursuant to Article 32 of the Faculty Statute, announces a

C A L L   F O R   A P P L I C A T I O N S

for appointment into

 

1. Associate grade of assistant in natural science, the field of biology, the branch of zoology, for a fixed term of 6 years and on a full-time basis, to work on the following project: Systematic Examination of The Biological Element of Fish Quality in Surface Inland Waters, at the Division of Zoology of the PMF Department of Biology - 1 person.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

 

The Call is open to applicants of both sexes on equal terms.

 

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, the applicants must satisfy the conditions set forth in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No 119/2022).

 

In addition to their respective applications, for the points 1, 2, and 3 of the Call the applicants submit: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship.

 

For the points 1, 2, and 3 of the Call the applicants must satisfy the following conditions: to have completed a graduate university study programme, or an integrated undergraduate and graduate university study programme, in natural science, the field of biology.

 

For the points 1, 2, and 3 of the Call, in addition to their respective applications, the applicants must also provide the evidence to prove that they meet the additional terms and conditions according to the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Biology of the PMF, the University of Zagreb.

For the point 1 the applicants must satisfy the following additional conditions:

  • Experience in ichthyological research and molecular biology techniques (evidence in the form of scientific papers, professional project reports, and/or letters of recommendation);
  • Participation in the projects focusing on fish-based examination of the ecological status/potential (evidence in the form of cover pages of professional project reports listing authors/participants, and/or letters of recommendation);
  • Published scientific papers on ichthyology in internationally peer-reviewed journals (evidence in the form of scientific papers);
  • B category driving license (evidence in the form of a photocopy of the driving license);
  • Teaching experience (delivering practicums and/or field exercises) (evidence in the form of course delivery certificates).

For the point 2 of the Call the applicants must satisfy the following additional conditions:

  • Experience in ichthyological research and freshwater fish field research methods (evidence in the form of scientific papers, professional project reports, and/or letters of recommendation);
  • Participation in professional projects using conservation biology methods in relation to freshwater fish (evidence in the form of cover pages of professional project reports listing the authors/participants, and/or letters of recommendation);
  • B category driving license (evidence in the form of a photocopy of the driving license);
  • Boat Skipper category B license (evidence in the form of a photocopy of the license);
  • Teaching experience (delivering practicums and/or field exercises) (evidence in the form of course delivery certificates.

For the point 3 of the Call the applicants must satisfy the following additional conditions:

  • Experience in ichthyological research and production of cartographic representations using geographical information systems (evidence in the form of scientific papers, professional project reports, and/or letters of recommendation);
  • Participation in professional projects using conservation biology methods in relation to freshwater fish (evidence in the form of cover pages of professional project reports listing the authors/participants, and/or letters of recommendation);
  • Participation in scientific conferences (evidence in the form of certificates of attendance);
  • B category driving license (evidence in the form of a photocopy of the driving license);
  • Teaching experience (delivering practicums and/or field exercises) (evidence in the form of course delivery certificates.

Foreign nationals must submit a Croatian language certificate for all points of the Call.

The applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations should refer to the preference in their application and provide all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights, as well as all evidence of eligibility and of absence of any impediment to their exercising of the priority placement rights as stipulated under the special regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call and that they have achieved the top scores at the interview. An application shall be deemed duly completed and complete if it contains all the data and supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements.

 

Incomplete and late applications shall not be taken into consideration.

 

The applicants applying for the points 1, 2, and 3 of the Call that fully meet all the formal terms and conditions of the Call, based on their duly completed, complete, and timely application, will be invited for an interview with the Selection Board. The applicants will be separately notified of the time and place of the interview. Any applicants who fail to attend the interview at the time and place as specified in the separate notification, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

 

The PMF collects and processes the personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifiying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No.035-01/18-01; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

 

The closing date for submission of applications for all points of the Call is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette.

 

The results of the Call will be published on the PMF website: www.pmf.unizg.hr (Competitions).
