On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, 15:00 hours, Dylan Butson, University of Oxford, will hold lecture as part of Seminar for Algebra titled:

„Vertex algebras from divisors on Calabi-Yau threefolds“.

Abstract:
I will explain two conjecturally equivalent constructions of vertex algebras associated to divisors on toric Calabi-Yau threefolds. The first is an algebraic construction in terms of screening operators on lattice vertex algebras, and the second is a geometric construction in terms of Nakajima-type correspondences on certain moduli spaces of coherent sheaves on the underlying threefold. Time permitting, I will discuss some aspects of the proposed proof of the equivalence, and some implications for representation theory of vertex algebras.
