About Us

Croatian seismological survey monitors earthquake activity in Croatia and surrounding regions. The main functions of the Seismological survey are:

• operating the Croatian Seismograph and Accelerograph Networks
• continuous monitoring and evaluation of the incoming microseismic data
• determining the origin time, location and magnitude of observed earthquakes
• providing information on major earthquakes to the public, the civil protection authorities and the media
• collecting macroseismic data through an online questionnaire, over the phone, and in field surveys following a major event
• organizing and archiving the obtained earthquake data
• providing expert analysis of seismic activity in individual areas for the construction industry, insurance companies, etc.
